This week on VividNUrban will discuss Soledad Obrien’s Black in America Special. We will discuss how some of these problems affect our community with a 19 year old recently being sentenced to life for his part in the development of hybrid street gang “Squad UP”. We will also discuss the Hip Hop Political Convention Convention being held August 1-3, and what that means to a city that is very unwelcoming to anything related to Hip Hop.
We will catch up with Athena Jones publisher of Iflow Magazine about her work in the community and the goal of her publication as well as speaking with Brian Simms, Director of The Hip Hop Journalism Association, about the roles and responsibilities of the Hip Hop Journalists.
