As you may know, VividNUrban.com is in the process of creating a mixtape. It will be hosted by one of my favorite DJs, DJ Certified, and it will contain 18 tracks from 18 hip hop artists out of Vegas!!
Or at least that was the original plan..
Last week I started contacting various artists about the project to see who was down. All I know is that I had 18 people that were down…but in the end I only had 12 tracks in my e-mail yesterday. (shout out to those that sent the tracks without me hounding you!) So, your girl was on the prowl for tracks!!! I started taking recommendations. (shout out to DJ Tech & Mikey VIP- ya’ll saved my sanity!!)
Needless to say, I love all my Vegas people, but damn! If you didn’t want to be down, you should’ve said so. You could’ve saved me a lot of finger strokes and time!
To those that not only sent tracks, but send several tracks for me to choose from DAYS BEFORE the deadline… I gotz mad love fo ya’ll! I won’t name names because I don’t want anyone getting all emotional and pissed because I said something remotely negative about them. I got love for all my people and I don’t want to get anything twisted….but ya’ll ain’t Diddy!! (shout out to Pro & Halo- inside joke! Ha ha!!) Everyone here is trying to get to the same place, THE TOP!! We’re all in this desert together, so why can’t we work together and help each other rise? In this game it’s about EXPOSURE!! The whole point is to get yourself out there…to be seen…to be heard!! Like my boy Twix said, don’t turn no FREE publicity down!! -Interview, mixtapes, TV time…etc…etc…etc.
I know we’re a small mag, but we’re growing every day. We’re getting more hits, posting more articles, and getting more and more subscribers every day! Just like ya’ll ain’t Diddy, We ain’t The Source. BUT WE ARE Vivid N Urban and WE are showing Vegas artists love. Most of ya’ll ain’t even a blip on the radar to them…
So check yourself….and don’t turn away someone that’s trying to help you get to where you wanna be.
