TN
: Introduce yourself to the people.Landlord: Well, you know I’m The Las Vegas Landlord straight from sin city, Las Vegas, Nevada. I’m one of the few that ‘s born and raised here. I’m no tourist. A lot of people move in and out of the city.
TN: How did you get into the game?
Landlord: A couple of years ago I was playing around with it. About 3 years ago I started to get serious with it. I had some people that believed in me and they pushed me to do more. Ever since then there’s been a lot of success.
TN: Tell me about your craft, what do you bring that’s different?
Landlord: I’m 21 and I’m here to represent for the youth. Most of my tracks are for the young people. Ya know, we really ain’t got no voice. I got tracks for those that think they can’t make it out the hood. I’m trying to give them a little motivation and try to keep them uplifted. I’m one of those that came from nothing to something, you know what I mean? We have a lot of old head that speak for the youngstas.
TN: So your music is for the kids?
Landlord: Naw, I’m not saying that. I have tracks for everyone. I try to touch everyone I can with my music, my lyrics.
TN: What producers have you worked with?
Landlord: A lot of people. All sin city cats like Bosie T, Remix, Lil’ Will and Hitman. They’ve been doing this for a minute. Vegas knows them.
TN: Yeah, I know those names. That’s a hot production team. How do you choose a beat?
Landlord: Usually I write the song then I try to find a beat that fits. I ask people if they got something kinda slow or whatever. Lately people been bringing their beats to me and if I like it I’ll use it. Whatever comes to mind when I hear it I just go with it.
TN: Tell me what’s going on with you? Anything new on the horizon?
Landlord: Well, about a week ago I made it official that I’m fuckin’ with Philthy Rich Records. Yeah, Floyd Mayweather and them. They got me workin’ on my first actual album that’s going to be worldwide. In fact, I just did my first song with them.
TN: What’s the name of your first track on Filthy Rich Records?
Landlord: We don’t got a name for it yet. Right now we got five different ones and I’m just waiting to see which one they pick. I’m letting the label decide it.
TN: Well, congratulations!!! We got someone from Philthy Rich Records! How did you get that deal?
Landlord: It was cool, ya know. I was at 40/40 Club and he pulled up in valet about ten cars deep. He actually noticed me first. He came up to me was like, “You the Landlord, huh?” He said that he liked my music. We didn’t exchange any information and I thought that he was sort of bogus. Then the next time I saw him was at the Nelly Party at Red Rock. I gave him my information an I let him know that I was a free agent and I had been doing this for myself for a minute and that I was ready to get down. He told me to talk to the CEO that was standing next to him. We exchanged information. I said I was ready and they said they were ready too and the rest is history.
TN: Word. Anything else you want to say?
Landlord: I’m the Landlord people. Philthy Rich Records. Get with it. It’s a new movement!
TN: That’s what’s up! Now, my give me a freestyle. Something off the dome to tease the people.
Landlord: I got a question though…
Have you even seen a youngsta put it down for the city
Youngstas callin’ him king, bitches callin him Diddy
He’s been through so many things, the critics callin him 50
He keep them bitches juicy so the groupies callin’ him Biggie
Now tell me, have you ever seen another swagger
Of a gangsta, of a hustla, of a goon slash rapper
And he’s so different that he confuses the pastor
They don’t know if he’ll pop ‘cause the devil is in his actions
He pulled up a raven with no occupation
He’s the hustla of the year, or at least a nomination
If you’re not talking bread then cease the conversation
His city wants him to blow but these labels got him waitin’
From nothing’ to sumthin’ he’s a concrete rose
He should have a holiday by the time he’s old
And everybody said he’d be dead years ago
But he’s still livin’, so stand up and let’s hear it for him.

Geat read and congratulations on your record deal! Stars shine with Stars and Floyd Mayweather is truly that. I’m glad to hear you reaching out and back to the youth and others you may know and showing them that they too can rise up from whence they came. Just stay focused and perservere. You’ve got to believe it if you want to achieve it!
